Navi Mumbai to Get India’s Biggest Disneyland-Inspired Amusement Park

Mumbai is set to become an even bigger tourist attraction with the announcement of a Disneyland-inspired theme park in Navi Mumbai. This massive project, covering 200 hectares, is expected to attract visitors from India and around the world.

A Big Step for Mumbai's Tourism

The Maharashtra government, working with Niti Aayog, is planning this theme park as part of a bigger goal to make Mumbai a global tourism hub. The park will include entertainment zones, water parks, resorts, and animation studios to provide a complete entertainment experience for visitors.

To make this project successful, the Maharashtra government is offering financial incentives to private investors. The total cost is estimated to be USD 6-7 billion. Investors will get tax breaks, reduced lease rents, longer lease periods, and increased Floor Space Index (FSI) to encourage their participation.

Boost to Economy and Employment

This theme park is expected to bring huge economic benefits. Experts believe it will create thousands of jobs in sectors like hospitality, construction, and entertainment. By 2030, Mumbai's tourism income could grow four times, thanks to this project. Local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and shops, are also expected to gain from the increased number of tourists

Project Timeline and Attractions

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is set to finalize land allocation by 2025-26. The government will invite private investors through a bidding process in 2026-27, and construction will begin in phases. Major attractions are expected to be open by 2030.

The park will offer thrilling rides and digital experiences, using Mumbai's film and media industry to create unique attractions. Bollywood's cultural heritage will be a big part of the theme park's experience.
